Your message is in the safest hands

World2World's professional Translators and Simultaneous ('live') Interpreters give you so much more than a mere word-for-word translation: a faithful transfer of the original spirit and feel of your message as well as absolute accuracy and technical excellence are the three essential qualities you will find in every translation or simultaneous interpreting assignment that our team of experts carries out.

What matters to us is the message that your original written and spoken text is intended to communicate, keeping the cultural profile of your target audience very much in mind. Our professionals will carefully craft your translation to ensure that it meets the linguistic and cultural expectations of your target audience, regardless of their background or technical specialisation: we produce texts and deliver simultaneous interpretations that are recognised by experts as translated by professionals.

W2W offers corporate Clients a first-class Text Translation Service as well as a Simultaneous Interpreting Service in all Western and Eastern European languages, as well as in Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Arabic.

FAQs

"How can I be sure W2W's Translators and Interpreters are of excellent quality?"

We will be happy to carry out a sample translation for you. E-mail us a text with a maximum of 80 words and we will return your translation quickly so that you can judge for yourself the standards to which we work.

Interpreting: on your written request we will give you direct Client references for a selection of companies whom we have successfully supported with our Interpreting Service.

"How is the cost of my translation calculated?"

The costs for a translation depend on three factors:

a) The technical difficulty of the translation

Texts on gas turbine maintenance, for example, naturally require a high degree of technical knowledge from the translator. However, even 'simple' letters to foreign Clients or short product advertising texts can often require a great deal of thought and sensitivity towards the target reader and target culture: in these cases a 'one-to-one' translation is rarely the best procedure. Getting the content and 'tone' right takes time!

b) The length of the translation

We calculate the length of your translation not on the source text but on the target text. For instance, translating from English into German normally creates a text approximately 8% longer than the English original, while translating into French or Italian creates a translation 10% longer.

c) The required format of the translation

Translations in MS Word format are costed on the basis of 55 keystrokes per translation line.

Translations in MS PowerPoint and Excel format, as well as corrections of existing translations and formatting work (which includes translating text in 'embedded' graphics in your documents) are costed on an hourly basis.

"How can get a definitive costing for my translation?"

Please send us your text by e-mail as an MS Word, PowerPoint or Excel attachment:

e-mail W2W

If you only have paper copy of your source text, please send us no more than six representative pages by fax (the full document can be sent by courier or post later).

It goes without saying that we are happy to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement with you to guarantee the confidentiality of your documents: please send two copies of this to us by fax/e-mail only.

We will generally be able to send you a written price offer and delivery time within four hours of receiving your enquiry. Our contact hours for translation requests are Monday to Friday 10.00 to 18.00h Central European Time.

Once you have accepted our price and delivery time, please give us your definitive go-ahead in writing by e-mail or fax, with the orderer's full name and company contact details.

"Why is there often a large price variation between different translation (or interpreting) suppliers?"

'Bargain basement' suppliers can be found in every business service sector. The translations sector is no exception. Unfortunately, 'cheap' often turns out to be rather expensive in the long run, if:

  • your chosen supplier does not employ native-speaker translators (or interpreters) in your chosen target language
  • does not ensure that his translators have the required technical expertise in your chosen sector
  • does not ensure that his translators have years of professional experience as translators
  • does not proofread the translation before returning it to you
  • does not require his translators to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements to protect your company's intellectual property
  • does not have the necessary IT security systems in place to guarantee the confidentiality of your company's information.

Our prices are calculated to provide you with the best-possible quality translations at fair price and in the shortest reasonable timeframe!

"How can I pay for my translation or interpreting order?"

You will receive a written invoice from us shortly after the delivery of your translation, showing all W2W's legally-required company IDs, tax and bank details. We ask you to ensure that full payment in euros reaches our nominated bank account by direct bank transfer no later than 15 calendar days from receipt of our invoice (unless we have previously agreed different contractual conditions in writing with you). Unfortunately we are unable to accept cheques.

"Can I have my translation back tomorrow morning?"

Here at W2W we will always do our very best to meet your deadlines: we fully understand that you are quite probably under severe deadline pressure yourself. Our regular Clients know that we can be relied on to meet the delivery schedule we give you. What is possible will be done professionally and on time.

If we feel, however, that your deadline means we cannot guarantee you the level of quality that we require of ourselves, then we ask for your understanding if we refuse to work to a deadline which we feel will endanger that quality.

You are looking forward to receiving a translation that you can publish as a reliable and highly communicative document for your own Clients and business partners to read and recognize as written by a specialist. If we are not given time to produce an error-free translation that is specifically tailored to your readers, then we will be happy to recommend a different supplier (whose quality philosophy may not be as strict as ours...).
